Mr Kofi N. Agyemang

Executive Director, GTS

Kofi started off his career as an electrical engineer with the Volta River Authority (VRA). While with VRA for over 12 years Kofi had various roles in power system planning and commercial development of various projects, including the 220 MW Takoradi International Company IPP gas turbine power plant and managing the VRA/Government of Ghana interest in the West Africa Gas Pipeline during the development phase.

During his ten-year corporate and investment banking career, subsequently, Kofi also arranged project financing and syndicated lending financing for various major infrastructure projects and for the Government of Ghana. Kofi is currently responsible for commercial management and business development.

Kofi Agyemang holds a BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, a MSc. in Finance from the Strathclyde University, Scotland, and an MBA as a Sloan Fellow from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA

Mr Sampson Asimeng

Director, GTS.

Sampson is responsible for Financial Forecasting and Financial Management as well as Governance structures for the business. He has several years of experience in Leadership in Finance and Accounting both in the United Kingdom and Ghana.

Sam previously worked as the Operations Manager at ScanStyle MIM Limited. Sampson is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and he holds a BSc. Business Administration, University of Ghana Business School.

Prior to joining GTS, he was the Operations Manager at ScanStyle MIM Limited.

Mr. George Niako

Plant Manager, Operations and Maintenance Management.

George is an Electrical Engineer with over 16 years’ experience in electric utility management, operations and maintenance.

As part of his experience, George has worked as senior site supervisor for ERGGS Consortium on the national rural electrification project and with ABB Ghana Ltd as supervising engineer for the Electricity Company of Ghana.

George worked for a few years for the Taqa Generating International Operating Company (previously the CMS International Operating Company) becoming Operations and Technical Manager and, subsequently the first Ghanaian Plant General Manager for the Takoradi International Company (TICo).

Prior to joining GTS Engineering Limited, George was a Consultant for CENIT Energy Limited where he served as Technical Advisor in the area of LTSA, O&M, SSA, ICA and PPA contracts.

George holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Finance and Accounting from University of Liverpool and BSc in Electrical Engineering from Richmond University.

Mr. Isaac S. Boafor

Maintenance Manger

Isaac was the lead engineer for the first natural gas pipeline in Ghana, the 1.5km pipeline at Takoradi. Isaac coordinated the Gas Conversion Project at the Volta River Authority Takoradi Thermal Power Station, Aboadze. He was also involved in several maintenance projects at the Volta River Authority’s Thermal Power Plants in Takoradi

Isaac was also the Project Engineer on the 4 km 12” Gas Pipeline to the Tema Thermal 1 Power Plant.

He was the Project Coordinator for the Engineering Procurement and Construction of the 126MW VRA Tema Thermal 1 Power Plant.

He was the Project Engineer (Mechanical) for the Engineering Procurement and Construction of the 126MW Tema CENIT Thermal Plant. He was the Lead Mechanical for the operation and maintenance of the Tema CENIT Thermal Power Plant

Isaac holds a BSc. Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Gas Transmsson Professional Certificate, Gas Technology Institute, Chicago, USA. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers, GhIE.

Mr. Nana K. Caiquo

Technical Manager

Nana was involved in the co-ordination of all electrical works on the Gas Turbine, the Power Evacuation Infrastructure, the Switchgear and the Controls and Instrumentation on the 126MW Tema Thermal 1 Power Plant for the Volta River Authority

He was also the Project Engineer (Electrical) for Engineering Procurement and Construction of the 126MW Tema CENIT Thermal Power Plant for CENIT Energy. He was involved in the testing and commissioning of the evacuation, switchgears and control and Instrumentation systems of the plant.

He was the Lead Electrical for the operation and maintenance of the Tema CENIT Thermal Plant. Nana has over 10 years experience in power plant and substation maintenance works and was involved in several maintenance projects at the Volta River Authority’s Thermal Power Plants in Takoradi.

He holds a BSc. (Hons.) In Electrical &Electronic Engineering, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Certificate in Renewable Energy, Green Power Academy, South Africa. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers, GhIE.
